Hosted by the Runnymede Trust, the Shared Futures conference took place virtually over two days in April 2021.

The aim of the conference was to bring together representatives from Black-led charity organisations and funding bodies, to have an open discussion about the future of the funded sector.

The event was sponsored by The National Lottery Community Fund and The CREME project, and charities who attended and contributed included the Ubele Initiative, Race on The Agenda (ROTA), the Black Training and Enterprise Group (BTEG), and Voice 4 Change England.

Coalition calls on Government to tackle unemployment disparities for young black men in London

It is a great disappointment that the recent report by the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities did not acknowledge the systemic racial injustice that runs through our society and its institutions. Whilst it is important to recognise that progress has been made in some areas, unfortunately the ongoing disparities of social outcomes based on race is evidence enough that we still have a long way to go, and renewed action is urgently needed.
