Earlier 2004, PATH (Positive Action Training Highway) National secured funding from Lloyds TSB Foundation to support a new shared ICT support with ROTA (Race on the Agenda) and BTEG. The funding enabled the three organisations to jointly employ an ICT Officer.
This post was funded as part of the Lloyds TSB Foundation's Collaborative Grants Programme which actively encourages charities to work together to strengthen their knowledge and good practice and share resources. It looks to promote cross-sector working where appropriate, as well as the evaluation of work undertaken. The Foundation believes that 'collaboration' can significantly help to improve the effectiveness of voluntary organisations. Independent evaluation will be carried out for this particular project and the 'experience' of all three organisations will be written up as part of a potential mode for other charities wishing to try this way of working.
The initial 2 year project has now ended and BTEG, PATH and ROTA are now sustaining the ICT manager themselves by splitting the costs 3 ways.
