Being a national organisation, BTEG have direct connections to regional and local BME third sector organisations. BTEG is also a member of five central government and national advisory groups (DIUS/DCSF/DWP/LSC/CLG) and is also a member of the Olympic Delivery Authority's new Inclusion Group. Our plan is to produce high quality policy development materials (BME Policy Matters briefings and newsletters), update our website and disseminate this information via national, regional and local events. This project takes advantage of our position as a respected national organisation and proactively influence policy debates, thinking at the national and local levels. Our focus primarily is on two vital policy areas: education and employment. Skills and self-employment also feature but we will also highlight wider race equality issues, e.g. the criminal justice. We keep BME third sector organisations up to date with policy developments, good practice and funding opportunities. We want to engage our stakeholders in debates online.
