Seema is currently the Service Director Strategic Planning and Regeneration at the London Borough of Islington. Her roles involves leading on a diverse range of agendas including planning policy, strategic transport, council led regeneration schemes, social regeneration, third sector issues, adult and community learning and corporate GIS.
Seema was previously Head of Physical Regeneration and Development at the London Borough of Newham where she oversaw planning, transport and social regeneration in a high growth area at the peak of the market. Before that she was Head of Economic Regeneration at the London Borough of Haringey & Regeneration Manager at the London Borough of Camden. She has also has gained experience in the private sector as a consultant for Greater London Enterprise and Ove Arup.
Seema is a founding board member of the Future of London Group, member of the Town and Country Planning Association Policy Committee and Trustee of the Black Training and Enterprise Group (a national charity that aims to achieve improved outcomes for BAME communities).
Seema holds a BA in Land Economy and an M.Phil. in Town Planning. She is also fully qualified member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Seema is responsible for economic, social and physical regeneration, planning policy, strategic transport issues, adult & community learning and the voluntary sector. She has previously worked at the London Boroughs of Newham, Haringey, Camden and Sutton and with Greater London Enterprise, Weatherall Green and Smith and Ove Arup.
