Background:
Femi Bola is Director of Employability at the University of East London (UEL) with an interest in student and graduate employability, employer engagement, leadership and the inclusive curriculum.  Since joining UEL (2004) Femi has re-branded the Careers Service as the Employability Team, taken the institution’s Employment Performance Indicator (EPI) above benchmark and introduced a proactive and creative approach to student employability.  

Femi has an excellent reputation for interactive and motivating presentations, challenging workshops and excellent facilitation and has delivered presentations and workshops, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.  “Teaching and learning strategies are based on experiential and collaborative learning through a range of rich and varied activities. Imaginatively designed activities are highly relevant for all learners, specifically in relation to their age, ability, social identify and cultural background ”. Field of leadership was excellent.  She was involved in the observation of students and then giving feedback. Students were highly satisfied with the quality of feedback given, describing it to me as ‘incisive,’  ‘very helpful,’  ‘superb’”

In 2008 Femi was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy in recognition of her practice and achievements.
