Tony was the principal driving force in establishing the Ethnic Minority Foundation and the Council of Ethnic Minority Voluntary Sector Organisations in the North West. Tony spent 23 years as a career civil servant working across a number of major government departments, in local government as principal regeneration manager; and as a regeneration consultant in the private sector. He was involved in developing and establishing the Prince’s Trust Volunteers Programme and was Task Force Leader for the inner city task force of Moss Side and Hulme in the early 90s. Tony is a Non Executive Director on Stockport NHS, as well as Chairman of the African Caribbean Mental Health Service and One North West. He is also Treasurer to Manchester Council for Community Relations.

He was made a Justice of the Peace (JP) in 2006 and awarded the MBE in the 2009 Honours list for his contribution to the voluntary sector in the North West.
